Saturday, April 5, 2014 - Drank at Spadaros with DeCiccos. I was concerned re the bottle age but, other than the cork disintegrating in the bottle upon opening, a wonderful bottle. Pinkish/red color showing a bit of bricking. Fairly generous nose of earth & berries. Decent level of fruit--blackberries, blueberries mostly--but has faded a bit over the years leaving the wines other elements to move to the fore. Earth, leather, tar, forest floor and wonderful spices on the back end. Soft tannins mostly resolved, nice long finish. A great barbaresco and a real crowd pleaser this night.
