Thursday, November 21, 2019 - Pours dark-ish crimson with extensive bricking. The smell is intense... sorry for my lack of descriptors, but the only thing I can think of is "old wine". It's the same aroma that great old, mature red wines have. Maybe leather, dried fruit?

On the palate, notes of rust, leather, coffee, candied orange and a surprisingly fresh and powerful note of cherry and cranberry. Finishes of with shocking acidity and supple tannins that build up after a while. Body is very light. This is fully mature but very much alive. Not a trace of being over the hill or on the way down.

However, better drink it fast once opened. Maybe a fourth of the bottle was left for the second day, by which point it was thoroughly and utterly dead.
