Friday, December 8, 2023 - So very interesting and I which I had more time with it. Lovey berry fruit, red fruit highlights. Comes across as rather elegant and seamless with just a hint of white pepper. Almost seems like there is cinsault in the blend. Lighter on the palate than expected--but by no means is this lacking concentration or energy.

12/9/2023 6:36:00 AM - This is one of my favorite wines but the youngest I have had has been 2012 which was very tight and unforgiving. I have 2015 but hadn’t dared to try it after the 2012 experience, but maybe the warm vintage will make this drinkable now. Thanks for the note!

12/9/2023 7:25:00 AM - I found this pretty enjoyable. But it was maybe 3oz sample in a 2hr tasting. so not a lot of time on it. Looks for a Jviz note soon. Same bottle

12/9/2023 8:52:00 AM - Thanks, will do. I think you can get a pretty good sense of a wine from 3 oz—at least enough to know it isn’t extremely closed or on the other end of the spectrum past it.

12/10/2023 9:07:00 PM - Hi Decanting Queen - our bottle was really neither of those things (closed or over the hill). I thought it was a great moment to open one, but enjoyed the profile and structure good deal more on day 1.

12/11/2023 4:47:00 AM - Thanks jviz, I just saw your note and appreciated the validation! And great to know that day 1 is better, that is something I find almost impossible to predict without experience with a specific wine.
