Saturday, July 1, 2023 - 2023 Birthday lunch (Aquitaine Brasserie): Double-decanted but still needed quite a while to open up, citrusy to start but lovely stonefruit and spice emerged with time. Lots of years to go. Penfolds' flagship Chardonnay but not in the normal flagship mould of coming with the most oak and malo, more in the modern style of less winemaking influence and cleaner, crisper fruit. Very good but I would prefer a slightly heavier hand and bigger wine.
