Monday, November 29, 2021 - Terroir-istes International - Christmas Party (post Rioja Tasting) (Savage Wines, Cape Town): Mid amber-gold. Intense lifted notes of botrytis, ginger, pressed yellow flowers, dried apricot and pineapple.
Classic sweetness on entry with incredible concentration, this full-bodied Sauternes has lots of complexity, focus and purity of flavour. Almost too oily in texture, with that lemon honey and orange curd really ramping up the sweetness, but I was super impressed.
