Friday, October 6, 2023 - Freakishly deep ruby for a Nebbiolo of this age. Serious, brooding aromas of tar, black fruit, and minimal green. Large scaled palate presence and weight, powerful and relatively clenched with some wood presence and huge tannins. This just kept coming on with more air, but I honestly think it is no more than halfway toward full maturity. Immensely impressive titan of a wine and completely different from its 1997 stablemate served alongside it.
