Saturday, March 7, 2020 - La Paulée 2020 Grand Tasting of 2017 Burgundy (Pier 60, New York): The first time I tried this, all I got out of it was a medium weight mouthful of dusty soil. A second bottle showed much more-wintergreen aromas, serious, sappy black fruit in addition to the earth, and steadily building, sneaky tannins that kick in late. It is actually one of the bigger red wines poured today with unusual presence in the mouth. It will require decades of aging to resolve. I'm glad I went back a second time, which left a much more positive impression.
