90 Points

Friday, October 4, 2019 - Brilliant deep yellow gold. Low intensity nose of citrus and stone fruit with a light herbal note. The palate is not very concentrated; instead, age has muted the body but not in a bad way - a lot of weight, but somehow delicate. Dried orange, a bit of apricot pit bitterness, and a salty, stony mineral acidity. The acidity is piercing, and makes this so refreshing and gulpable. This is moving beyond its prime, clearly, but is still so delicious. Sadly, open to done was less than two hours, so I didn’t have a good sense of how this wine might develop with some air.
