I know I abused the bottle; this wine certainly deserves more care and preparation, but after a while it came up, gained color and weight. TWO HOURS LATER: MHB 78 is now open for 2 hours and it is geting better and better. Fuller, almost full bodied now. Well balanced, complex and layered: hints of tobacco, licorice, white chocolate, coffee, Syrah-like peppers, dark fruit. Forget about the 2-4 years; well stored bottles like this one will last for at least 10+ years, though I do not think significant improvements will appear. This is an awfull wine, especially when you consider the vintage. Much better that the Latour 1978!
