Saturday, August 15, 2015 - Intense nose of smoky gravel, black raspberries and sweet wood. This bottle was really showing well with great intensity for a '78 with flavors of old dark fruits, gravel, tobacco and roasted nuts. Finishes smooth and complex with notes of minerals and allspice. The tannins are so smooth and resolved and this bottle showed incredibly well and ready to drink. It did also benefit from being decanted for an hour prior to consumption.
