Friday, December 7, 2018 - This is really a very good Pinot Gris, quite a step up from the more junior wines in Holger Koch's range. Very good varietal typicity, lovely precision in the fruit expression, marries intensity and mineral freshness, beautifully judged oak, a welcome savoury hint of salted butter, quite oaky at the start of the finish (that just needs a bit of time), but then the fruit re-emerges. Sensitive wine making, only very slight residual sugar (3.4 gr/l), beautifully crafted. Drink now (decanted) until 2023, maybe longer.
