Sunday, March 6, 2022 - Drank over three days. A slight cloudy, medium amber in the glass. A complex and challenging nose to discern that eventually revealed blood orange, kumquat, raspberry sherbet, a lifted, floral note of orange blossom, a wet river rock minerality, and a passing resemblance to Lucozade Original. So inviting. Supremely bitter - the bitterness really is exceptional - and slightly waxy on the palate with grapefruit pith, melon skin, and bitter orange marmalade. With each passing day the bitterness mellowed, harmony increased, and concentration intensified. The maceration - which takes place in oak - provides a wonderful roundness to the wine. A delicious, highly impressive expression.
