Likes this wine:

Monday, February 10, 2020 - Brambly raspberry, dusty charcoal, mineral, some spice that rides the line between savory and baking. M to M+ acid, M to M- tannin, M- body. No noticeable alcohol at all. A lighter style but fairly serious too. This is ready to drink now but I’d say good for several more years and maybe even with a modest upside for a couple years.

I’ve never had a Piedirosso before (though this is recognizably in the same vein as other volcanic terroir southern Italian wines and especially other Campania wines, with a lighter frame but still decent structure) but this is interesting, distinctive, balanced, and very well made; about as much individual character as I’ve had in a wine for $20 (actually I paid $32 at a restaurant and would probably pay that at a bottle shop), very good qpr. Will buy again for sure and look for other Piedirosso too. 7.2-7.3/10
