Friday, April 19, 2019 - 2018 Visit to Domaine Faiveley (Nuits St. Georges): Moving to barrels, we started with the 2017 Damodes. A good introduction to what was described, for reds, as an "open, accessible vintage" at Faiveley. A musky, perfumed, red berried and floral nose. On palate, after a little barrel-related spritz, fruit forward. Bright raspberry, red cherry and other, largely, red fruit, soil and little spice. Elegant, lighter bodied and available.
