Friday, May 17, 2019 - A generous contribution to finish this wine dinner which was dominated by great Burgundies. This bottle reminded us how good Bordeaux is as well, especially when properly aged and when there is a red meat dish to accompany. Wonderfully complex nose of dark fruit, forest floor, a touch of farmyard, earth and black forest cake. Impressively ripe fruit still but not overbearing like so often in Napa wines. Super smooth palate, well balanced. Perfect condition. A dream Bordeaux that also impressed the Burgnicks.
