Basically I enjoy the Cotes Blanc only when the Viognier is vibrant and not dominating, probably why I generally prefer the Patelin Blanc, where Viognier is only about 25% of the blend. The 2015 Patelin de Tablas Blanc is my ideal Rhone white blend, where the whole was greater than the sum of its parts. The 2017 Cotes Blanc also approaches that ideal. The nose is Viognier but shaped by the other varieties in a vibrant and precise way, the mouth feel is strongly influenced by Marsanne but not exclusively, having nice notes of GB and Viognier.
