Sunday, February 12, 2023 - Purple/ruby. Initially lots of brett with band aid on pop and pour. Decanted 24 hours. Nose with cassis, dark cherries, oak, alcohol, chocolate.
Full bodied palate with spices, dark cassis and currants, touch of tart underripe strawberries, some tobacco, finishes long and a little tart with nice good quality tannins. I was surprised with the amount of brett it had with very strong band air that takes 24+ hours to blow off, and even then is still sort of hangs in there. It has nice freshness to it with the slight tart red fruit and touch of acidity, it keeps the dark currants in a nice balance. Good stuff!
