Thursday, December 26, 2013 - Orange, some honey, apricot, modest amounts of botrytis, good acidity and minerality, and above all, balance. This final component is, I feel, essential if a Sauternes/Barsac is to live up to its name. Reasonable length, now in the zone, but well stored Coutets can live a long time.
I must admit that I have a soft spot for Coutet, and find them remarkably consistent across vintages. I'd love to visit the Chateau one day.
