Saturday, November 27, 2021 - Half-bottle purchased at Lisbon airport. Nice dark ruby red, just barely see-through. Timid nose upon opening; touch of red and black fruit and spice/violets. On the palate, the attack is frank, luscious, with nice sweet dark fruit preceding quite present slightly rough tannin. A good length and a touch of alcohol on the finish. This is good, but I can't currently say that it is better than the Graham's 2015 LBV. If anything, I'd say the extraction on this is higher, the tannin quite a bit firmer, but then the firm tannin is sort of the house style. A very good filtered LBV but not at all comparable to the flight of 5 Taylor vintages I tasted 10 or so days ago. But then it isn't supposed to be.
89-90 or so.
