Monday, October 30, 2023 - Surprisingly elegant nose: cocoa powder, cassis, mint, oregano, dried fig, rhubarb. Still very fresh. Blind, I would call this a middle aged right-bank bordeaux. On the palate, the tannins are fully resolved, medium + acid. Really stunning: more fig, cocoa powder, espresso, dried cassis. Just the right amount of leather/cigar box. This is in a great place right now, but it's certainly not on the downhill yet! A strong argument that the Finger Lake can do cool climate bordeaux blends.
