Monday, November 23, 2020 - Appearance: Deep Ruby.
Nose: Med+ Intensity, blueberry, blackberry, vanilla, sweet spice, meaty, leather, clove, cedar, toast. It’s developing.
Palate: Dry, high acidity, high tannins fine grained, high alcohol, med+ body, med+ flavour intensity, chocolate, dry plum, savoury, almond, long finish.
Overall, very good wine. Still early to drink, it has at least a decade ahead.
A lot of juicy blue fruits on the nose with quite significant oak spices yet in great balance. With every swirl, you get some different characters. On palate, the wine starts with dried plum, evolves to some almond flavours and finish with dark chocolate that coats the mouth along with fine tannins. It’s structural but also in great shape to drink at this stage. The almond note and fruit structure reminds me of Mitolo GAM from McLaren Vale. I tasted this blind and got all key info of variety, region and vintage right. It has great QPR as well, need to stock up more when on special.
