Saturday, October 2, 2004 - Fill level midway in the neck, and the long cork came out almost in one piece - just an edge of the cork remaining at the neck, and this was easily removed. Long cork - in excess of 2". Colour remarkably good - deep mahogany, with a marked amber rim; fine aromas - primarily black currant preserves, with some raspberry at the edge, and whiffs of sawn cedar; easy entry, where the wine showed good structure, together with very good black currant flavours; velvety in texture and the flavours ease back in the finish to close down in a medium long aftertaste. This wine was much better in years gone by, but it still registers as a pleasing wine.
