Given the possible mousy qualities of this, I wanted to make sure that when I got back it was all systems go or a drain pour. Good thing this was all systems go as it poured a dark ruby color. The nose was pungent, yet balanced with strawberries, crushed rocks, savory herbs, black fruits, violets, licorice, dark red cherries, dark spices, a touch of funky notes, and tobacco. The Medium/full bodied feel is well balanced and polished with medium acidity and silky, medium tannins. If you get a clean bottle, this is drinking beautifully and right in a great spot right now.
