Friday, September 22, 2023 - A relatively youthful dark maroon colour. No decanting required. Intense nose of sweet red fruits, strawberries, cherries, compote, and roses that gradually dissipated. There was a very subtle hint of oak. Had the classic cherry aromas associated with Pinot Noir. Palate was equally pleasant, red fruits, with a touch of salinity. Very drinkable, tannins were imperceptible. I was very much surprised by this bottle, reaffirming my view that there's tonnes of value to be had in NZ PNs. Delicious!
