Saturday, April 17, 2021 - I think I actually preferred this when I tried it at an EP tasting in spring 2019, but it's still absolutely delicious. Quite important to get the temperature right, as it became a little bit rich and vanilla-y when too warm, whilst at relatively cool temperatures the wine has perfect balance: loads of phenolic tang and bitter herbs on the nose, which continue onto the palate and are joined by preserved lemon and a lactic quality, reiminscent of a lassi. At first there was also a sweet and spicy quality that brought to mind pineapple in ginger syrup. I didn't find this especially full-bodied, save that it's extremely aromatic and flavourful.
