Tuesday, September 3, 2013 - Still a beauty. Interesting, the barnyard funk is all gone now. It is still very earthy, but more stony than anything. In fact the sense of solidity is really striking; out of material that feels almost incorporeally weightless somehow it solidifies in the mouth like quick setting concrete, and takes on a truly large scale. Where did all this come from? It's still unmistakeably Truchot but I'm not sure I would have called this as the Sentiers; feels almost more Gevrey/Morey and could certainly pass for GC. Are *anyone's* '04s as ravishing as Truchot's? I actually like this better than the '02 Sentiers from a few months back.
