Sunday, February 3, 2013 - This medium-to-deep garnet wine was tasted at a walk-around Super Bowl party, and was striking enough to warrant extra attention. The nose is very intense and perfumed, with aromas of white flowers, jasmine, garrigue and black raspberries. It is medium-bodied on the palate, with light/supple residual tannins and well-integrated alcohol (despite being listed as 14.5%). The flavors mirror the nose and the solid middle palate leads to a long, smooth finish. This is an elegant wine which has developed significant complexity and finesse. Owners of well-cellared bottles can now reap the rewards from their patience. Drink now-12/17.
