Thursday, April 6, 2023 - Awesome! Pleasant and vibrant nose of cherries, violets and some minerality; throw in the scent of an ancient text collecting dust in the corner of an olde English university and your picture becomes clearer. The palate echoes and adds some baking spices, all supported by fine tannins with ample and persistent acidity. (This wine can still run for years!) Excellent density of flavors. Initial attack is a touch on the delicate side compared to the 2015 and 2016 vintages (and not in a negative way), but finishes big and spicy with decent length - the whole palate is well engaged! Shea never dissaponts.
