Community Tasting Note

Monday, November 2, 2015 - Miscellaneous Notes from Italy (mostly Champagne and Nebbiolo); 10/31/2015-11/6/2015 (Piemonte and Milano): November, 2014 disgorgement. Light yellow. Mildly frothy. Vibrant red apple skin, faint caramel notes, moderate dosage, excellent stoniness underneath. Delicious and fresh, more ready than I imagined it would be with the recent disgorgement date.

11/3/2015 3:03:00 AM - Thanks for your note. We also enjoy Initiale...how do you compare with Substance? If you have not visited the Selosse restaurant in the vineyards, then it is a must to sample this rockstar's best at his home and, not surprisingly, better priced!

11/3/2015 4:07:00 PM - We tend to agree Initiale the winner...price probably having some impact on that decision as a lot of spectacular champagnes at the Substance level...or for that matter at the Initiale level. Lucky sippers we are!
