Thursday, January 28, 2016 - Tonight as so many times before the Initiale is indeed singing from the glass. Red baked apples accompanied with minerals, citrus tones and rich dark toast all walks down the street hand in hand humming on the same tune. This is a powerhouse and a very particular style, yet it is just brilliantly crafted. The palate adds a lovely texture, integrated and balanced acidity as well as a fine grained and velvety mousse. The length on the finish lasts some 45+ seconds. Maybe not a Champagne for all palates, but I just love it. (disgorged September 2013)
