Saturday, July 8, 2017 - Supper with Futronic (Osteria Langhe, Chicago): The first to be opened, one of the last to be finished, this had the benefit of being served in a large-bowled stem. A March 2009 disgorgement showing a darker color with a soft mousse and slow, fine bead. Notes of roasted nuts, honeycomb and sauteed apple with an undertone akin to marshmallow fluff. The palate shows orchard druit and the mature roasted nutty qualities. Treating this like a mature Burgundy is the most rewarding approach, and this was for me the best example of this wine I have tasted. Very menu friendly.
