Monday, February 9, 2009 - Ink colored, even the bubbles were black! A penetrating nose of iodine, lavender, red currant, hardwood and damp concrete. Precise caramel, black berry and white pepper on the medium-bodied palate. The spicy, peppery finish has good length and adds an interesting note of Xmas pudding. A lifted, spicy, almost elegant wine that is not as fat as the usual Carlisle Syrah.
