His more recent efforts are semi-faint echoes of this vintage, much more refined...15.9%, fer gawsh sakes. Yet drinking this tonight over three hours it showed all the strengths of his wines and wine-making skills compared to what was offered in '07, to say nothing of the 6+ vintages previously. While it doesn't compare that favorably to more recent Pietro's vintages, which are more structured and vyd -driven (vs winemaker-driven) this is nice enough for a hot August Saturday nite with grilled NY steaks.
