Friday, March 26, 2021 - This stood up really well with the rich and sweet dessert. It had the stuffing and structure to cut through and work in alternating sips and dessert bites which can sometimes be challenging for the more delicate dessert wines like eiswein etc. A clean, fruity/floral nose and classical palate, lacking ultimate intensity or complexity but it is a 2004 after all, not a 2001 or 2003. It is an underappreciated Coutet, I think it is mid development and one could hold for a further decade in desired.
