Saturday, May 21, 2022 - Dark garnet, opaque. Decanted for an hour - there was a lot of very fine sediment. At first this is Bretty-minty, then some rugged tannins, olives, and black plummy fruit. With lamb at dinner over the course of a couple of hours, this never really softened up - there's no honeyed/older Grenache note here, but exotic tobacco, balsamic flavors, bloody meat and black olives. It really needs big food right now plus decanting - it drinks more like Bandol than CdP.
