Thursday, November 9, 2023 - Tasted after a 75 minute decant. Medium to dark ruby in colour with lovely aromas of forest floor & cured meat transitioning to leather & chocolate.
On the palate, full bodied, juicy & lively black fruit, blackberry/bramble/boysenberry, sweet tobacco, leather, raisin, spices, herbal, medium acidity, medium soft tannins with a long finish to pepper & a butterscotch aftertaste. This wine has aged exceptionally well & the complexity seems to have increased since our last bottle almost two years ago. One of the best Zinfandels we’ve ever tasted!
Still excellent flavour & structure on night #2!
