Wednesday, March 13, 2019 - TASTING THE COOKING WINE! Because in this house, we taste all the wine.

Unscrewed and poured.

Wine is a light straw color. Definitely not what I would have expected from a mass market Chardonnay.

On nose, get powdered candy, melon, and generalized citrus notes. Not particularly complex but nothing "off" for sure.

On palate, wine is sound. Refreshing acidity, roundness on the mid-palate (malolactic?) and a surprisingly long, soft finish. Don't get much flavor evolution here.

This is far better than a $13 bottle of wine has any right to be. Talk about punching above your weight. My ratings are absolute, not price adjusted, so it's got a low-ish score. But boy do I like this wine! I'd drink this at a ball game all day long.
