Friday, January 6, 2023 - Tasted via Corivan alongside the Les Clous front the same year. A rich, ruby red color. Glowing and very pure. Some subtle aging on the edges. The nose is very open and flamboyant; perfumed. Lots of fresh red berry fruit, some spiced cherry, and kirsch like notes as well. High toned floral notes and lifted. On the palate, this is medium bodied, with a soft and silky texture but gains some roughness on the midpalate and finish. The fruit is consistent with the nose. Quite balanced but with still quite significant tannins (but they are ripe and integrated even now). My only real criticism would be some dryness on the back of the palate and a slight bitter taste on the otherwise long and enjoyable finish. This is really impressive and enjoyable right now.
