Sunday, April 7, 2024 - Decanted for 3 hours and then an impromptu hospital trip (nothing serious) meant that I poured it back into the bottle and vacced it for the following day. The result was a wonderfully floral wine with fully resolved tannins that retained the Tuscan bitterness and leather flavours. Other half said ‘it’s too dry’ but she never liked Sangiovese anyway (this was one that I selfishly bought knowing I’d enjoy it and she wouldn’t). I wouldn’t necessarily ‘recommend’ that you decant and then leave it for a day, but it did this bottle no harm. I second Honest Bob’s note of ‘juicy’.
