Sunday, June 7, 2015 - Medium ruby with some fading. Oh goodness, this has the most vivid scent of lavender, like running your hands through a mountain field in southern France. Medium to full bodied with a tarry, tannic core. Around this core is a mixture of about 70% non-fruit elements (herbs, licorice, and tobacco leaf) and 30% sappy black fruit. Marvelous complexity, a small amount of alcohol also comes through. My assessment is that it is several years away from complete maturity.
