Friday, April 27, 2007 - A fine pinot, spicy, rich, lush, plenty of alcohol. We followed a 1999 Veuve Clicquot Rose champagne with the Kosta pinot, followed by a Hansel '05 RRV pinot. It could be that there is enough alcohol in this wine to be unpleasant to some, but after the champagne, it did not intrude in the least. Went well with smoke-roasted bone-in rib-eyes, roasted herb-garlic potatoes, and a salad. My brother and his wife, though not wine enthusiasts, enjoyed this wine very much with us on our deck, celebrating my birthday.
