Friday, September 30, 2005 - Dinner at Lampreia (Seattle, WA): Well, this blew the 1999 Abreu clear off the table. The nose was a little reticent, but the palate made up for that with rich, voluptuous waves of cocoa, mineral, screaming black fruit, ripe yet without too much sweetness. The finish was the highlight, an easy 60 seconds, stunningly long and persistent. This certainly nears the pinnacle of unabashed California cab that is all about waves of sweet, black fruit. Wow, too bad it was the last bottle. It drank *really* well!
