Saturday, July 2, 2005 - Deep dark, purple color. Surprisingly, no significant lightening at rim. Nose is a bit odd. Maderized red fruit, menthol, some smoke. Palate matched, with a short, sweet finish. Some drying tannins follow. Forgot I had this. Found it while doing an inventory. Should have been drunk 7 or 8 years ago - this score reflects the fact that this is a wine best drunk in the first 5-6 years of life, IMO. Remember one of this from the late 90's being in the high-80s or low 90s.
