Saturday, June 10, 2023 - some Riesling appreciation - Austria, Alsace, and Germany: light straw colour and light body in the glass. amid subtle wafts of petrol, the nose is rich in tangerine and lemon and with some notes of honey dried white flowers. lightly viscous in the mouth, the initial dry and stony attack morphs into richer flavours of minty and honeyed red apple and mirabelle balanced by a sharp acidity. just as quickly, it morphs again into a more austere style that turns spicy in the not particularly long finish.

this is a wine i'd like to revisit. i do wonder if a tad more bottle age will firm up the palate.
