3/31/2021 10:22:00 AM - I like full bodied wines, with character and elegance, this one is not exactly my profile. it's a good wine, 80-85 for me but my older brother gave it 90.
4/1/2021 3:53:00 AM - What I struggle most is 95-100. This comes mainly from wine being complex, but sometimes I feel that my judgement and taste aren't good enough to decide which wines should go 95 and beyond. Guess I've never tasted one. :-)
Though I agree that if wine is good (80-85), I tend to rate it between 85-88. I hardly ever go below 80, wine needs to be terrible.
4/1/2021 4:03:00 AM - I agree. Most people on here including myself don't have the experience to score 95-100. Seems silly to have 100 points to play with, but if a wine is good, we only really work between 85-100. What's the point of the other 85 points! I prefer Jancis' 20 point scale (and her scoring on the whole).

3/31/2021 9:17:00 AM - What Daniel likely means is:
CellarTracker uses a 50-100 point scale for rating wines.
Score Grade Meaning
98-100 A+ Extraordinary
94-97 A Outstanding
90-93 A- Excellent
86-89 B+ Very Good
80-85 B Good
70-79 C Below/Average
50-69 D Avoid
In other words 80 is quite low.
