Saturday, November 20, 2021 - Vinturi-decanted and sampled over a three-hour period, this opaque ruby wine is a blend of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Carménère. Teeming with dark bramble fruits, red currants, exotic spices, Provençal herbs and loamy earth, it is a medium-bodied, freshly acidic red with plentiful fine-grained tannins, well-integrated alcohol (14%) and a judicious aliquot of oak. Layered and dense on the mid-palate, it proceeds to a lengthy finish that flashes some tannic astringency. Give this a couple more years in the cellar. If you choose to pop the cork at this early stage, allow it two or more hours in decanter. Drink 2023-2033.
