Friday, February 10, 2023 - 2018 Chateau Clos St Martin. Bottle 1/6 paired with homemade venison ragu. I was excited to try this St Emilion microproducer that is part of the same family as Dominus and Lafleur Petrus. Needed at least an hour of air then delivered very silky red plum and blueberry fruit, mild chocolate, light coffee, bramble fruit, coffee grain and aniseed. 10-15 second finish. Ethereal. If I’m nitpicking the finish could be longer but this is so complex and opulent at only 5 years age scoring 95/100. Tastes like a baby Cheval Blanc.
