Thursday, September 3, 2009 - Opened at Redd Napa Valley: Color in the glass still incredibly dark, especially when compared to the 2005 Kapcsandy Roberta's Reserve Merlot we were also enjoying, deep purple. On the nose heavy cedar, cigar box, tobacco and licorice. In the mouth notes of blue, black fruits, and lots of chocolate with a mouth coating texture. Good acidity and soft tannis balancing out the wine not too fruit forward. The finish last 30+ seconds with continuing notes of lush blackberries. Overall delicious and nowhere near fading at least 10+ years left of life however may not see more development in the bottle.
