Thursday, September 28, 2023 - Pnp from a 375 ml half bottle. Clearly an example of Bordeaux producers that are making wine to drink upon release. This is a polished medium to full bodied St Julien with notes of pencil shavings, leather, cassis and dark fruit. Retronasal olfaction reveals the vanilla from the oak. Tannis are fine grained and the finish is superb. This will obviously cellar well, but why wait?

10/10/2023 5:02:00 PM - I’ve been buying LB since 1982 in furtures (ok, I’m older). In my experience, LB will close down in a year or three, not to re-emerge until year 18-20, where it will gradually develop broader flavors. I’m still holding 2000s, though I’ll probably start on them this winter. If you can wait, it’s worth the time.
