Saturday, August 8, 2020 - 2013 Lamborghini Campoleone was developing, supple and well-balanced. The Umbria Merlot-Sangiovese blend was clear and medium ruby in colour with light brick rim and no sediment. On the nose, there were aromas of dark plum, ripe dark cherries and smoke, followed by smoke, milk chocolate and ceder wood. The mouthfeel was dry and rather full-bodied, with medium levels of supple tannin and balanced acidity. Flavours of blackberries, Christmas cake, wet stone, tobacco and Pu'er black tea lingered in a long earthy finish. The wine was composed of 50% Merlot and 50% Sangiovese.
